When Dan came to me his website was nowhere to be found in Google. He is in the property rental business and needed his site to be found whenever someone searched on the search engines for a property to rent in Vernon, BC.

There were a number of problems with the web site that Dan had at that time. The company who had developed his web site had tied him into a proprietary content management system that was out of date, difficult to use, not search engine friendly, and causing both Dan and his assistant a lot of problems on a regular basis. Things which should have been a simple maintenance task were taking ages to get done each month.

On examining Dan’s site I discovered that as well as all the problems he was aware of, the development and hosting company he was paying each month had put hidden links on every page of his web site and were promoting their own business and and a number of spammy web sites using these hidden links. This technique is expressly forbidden by Google, who make it clear that it is one of the things that could lead to your site being banned.

I not only built Dan a site that was FAR easier for them to maintain but I also made sure that he was on page one of Google for terms he wanted to be found under.
